What Does A Commercial Cleaner Do
Written by Desert Oasis Cleaners

What Does A Commercial Cleaner Do?

A commercial cleaner is a common term for an individual or company that offers cleaning services for businesses like offices, shops, warehouses, nightclubs, bars, and restaurants, just to name a few.  Cleaning services offered are going to differ, but most commercial cleaners are going to have the equipment and staff available to performing everything from dusting office desks and emptying trash containers to industrial window cleaning and carpet cleaning.

5 Reasons Why You Should Hire a Commercial Cleaner

Below is why you should contract a commercial cleaner for your business:

Time

If you run a business that is busy it is doubtful you are going to have the time to add cleaning to your schedule of duties. Your employees are going to be hired for a specific responsibility, and as a result, they might not think that cleaning is going to be part of their workload. Additionally, it might be more productive and make more sense, financially, to have your employees spending their time doing their job.  Your commercial cleaner is going to arrive at your business when contracted and is going to carry out all the duties in their contract.  Cleaning is going to be carried out whether you are busy or not.

Cleaning Equipment

Many businesses are going to have a broom, possibly a couple of dusters and some polish but if you hire a cleaning company, they are going to come with everything they need to perform their work.  Subject to your premises and their contract this might include water-fed poles for cleaning high windows, industrial carpet cleaning machines, and polishers for your floors.

Insurance

A reputable commercial cleaning company is going to be insured for using their own equipment and to work at your location.  Are your staff insured to handle machinery?

Reliability

A commercial cleaning company is going to have a lot of trained cleaners, therefore are going to be able to complete your routine cleaning contract even throughout holiday periods and staff absence.  If you leave this duty to your own employees, it is likely to get placed at the bottom of the schedule of tasks if you are short-staffed throughout holiday periods or are typically busy.

Business Premises Cleanliness

Keeping a clean place of work is vital for a lot of reasons.  When your business is facing your customers, it needs to always be clean and tidy, or it is doubtful that customers are going to come back.  Your employees also need to work in a clean setting.  Furthermore, they are more likely to work more efficiently but they are unlikely to be out of work sick when they are properly cared for and work in a tidy and clean business.

Commercial Cleaner Services

A professional commercial cleaning company is going to want to visit your location initially to discuss your requirements and to see what they need to clean prior to agreeing on a cost.  They are then going to draw up a tailor-made contract for your business.  When contracting a cleaner you are going to need to think about everything you want them to accomplish.

Epoxy Floor Cleaning
Written by Desert Oasis Cleaners

Cleaning Epoxy Floors Costs 2023

Epoxy coating costs range from $3 to $7 per square foot depending on the type of epoxy used and labor costs. Water-based epoxy can cost two to three times less than 100% solid epoxy. Read on to learn more about maintaining epoxy floors.

General Maintenance

Dust mop once a week. The best way to maintain your epoxy floor is to run a soft dust mop over it once a week. This removes dirt and dust gently, which prevents scratches and protects your floor. For floors with an anti-slip aggregate coating–such as aluminum oxide–a soft bristle push broom may be more effective than a standard dust mop.

Vacuum any joints once a month. If you have visible construction joints or saw cuts, you should use a vacuum to clean these out. For best results, use your vacuum attachment hose with a crevice tool. Vacuum these joints about once per month. If you do not have a vacuum, you can try to clean any joints/cuts with a stiff bristle broom.

Clean spills immediately with a soft cloth. Oil, chemicals, or even just water left to sit for too long can damage your epoxy floors. Clean any spills as soon as you see them using a soft towel or cloth. You can use a gentle cleanser–such as Windex–if a spill is sticky or leaves a film.

Deep Cleaning

Perform a deep cleaning every three months. In addition to general cleaning, you can keep your epoxy floors in good shape by doing a deep cleaning about once every few months. In order to accomplish this, you may need to move some vehicles, tools, or other items out of your way.

Choose a cleaning solution. You have two good options to choose from: the first is a non-toxic, biodegradable cleanser (like Simple Green), and the second is ammonia. When prepared with the right amount of water, both of these cleansers are safe and effective for epoxy floors.

  • Mix 12 cup (120 ml) of Simple Green with 1 gallon (3.8 L) of hot water. If you make an over-concentrated solution, it can leave a film on your floor.
  • Mix 12 cup (120 ml) of ammonia with 1 gallon (3.8 L) of hot water.

Mop the floor with a hard foam mop. Create a bucket of cleaning solution, as well as a bucket of plain hot water. Submerge your hard foam mop into your cleaning solution, ring it out, and then move it over your floor. Rinse the floor. Fill a bucket with clean warm water. Using your hard foam mop, go back over the floor with water in order to rinse off any detergent. When you’re finished, dry the floor with a soft towel.

Stain Removal

Remove tire marks with a concrete degreaser. The best way to remove tire marks from epoxy floors is to saturate the area with a concrete degreasing product and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Then use a stiff bristle nylon brush to vigorously scrub tire marks away. If they are persistent, you may need to apply the degreaser a second time. Once the tire marks have been removed, rinse the area with a bit of water and dry with a towel.

Work on tire marks right away when they’re made. They will be more difficult to remove the longer they build up.

Cautions

  • Do not use cleansers with vinegar or citrus oil in them. These abrasive substances can damage epoxy floors.

  • Avoid using soap and soapy cleansers. These can leave streaks or make your epoxy floor slippery.

  • Park a vehicle so each tire is on a piece of cardboard or carpet if it sits on epoxy floors for a prolonged period of time.

Restaurant Cleaning Costs 2022
Written by Desert Oasis Cleaners

Restaurant Cleaning Costs 2023

The average cost of restaurant cleaning is $85 per hour with average restaurant cleaning services rates and prices ranging from $20 to $150 per hour for the US in 2023.

The reason for the wide variation in costs is because the price depends on many different factors. For example, light cleaning (dusting, vacuuming and cleaning bathrooms) averages $35 per hour with costs ranging from $20 to $40 per hour. Conversely, commercial kitchen cleaning is considerably more expensive because of the level of difficulty. You can look to spend an average of $100 per hour on commercial kitchen cleaning with costs ranging from $50 to $150 per hour. The good news is a heavy-duty kitchen cleaning is only needed a few times per year. Professional carpet cleaning costs average $0.15 per square foot with costs ranging from $0.05 to $0.25 per square foot.

When you hire a professional cleaning service, you determine the frequency of the cleaning. You can choose from daily, weekly or even monthly visits. You can be sure the professional and experienced staff at Desert Oasis Cleaners will do all of the cleanings to the highest standards and can be a supplement to the routine cleaning chores handled by your staff.

About Restaurant Cleaning

Restaurant owners often outsource part or all of their cleaning depending on the size of the restaurant and staffing levels. Services provided often include:

  • Bathrooms- Scrubbing and sanitizing all surfaces, including countertops and toilets; mopping and sweeping floors; removing trash; and refilling paper products and soaps.
  • Dining room/Lobby- Mopping, dusting, sweeping; sanitizing tables and other surfaces; washing ceilings and walls; and washing windows.
  • Kitchen- Cleaning and sanitizing all countertop and stainless steel surfaces; washing walls and floors; degreasing and cleaning exhaust fans; broilers, scrubbing irons and stoves; and cleaning and degreasing filters and ducts.

Choosing A Restaurant Cleaning Service

You want to choose the best restaurant cleaning service, so here are some important tithings to consider when you decide who to opt for:

  • Be sure to meet the people from the cleaning company before you hire them. Make sure they seem professional. Ask lots of specific questions. How long have they worked for the company? What kind of training did they have? Will they be arriving at the same time every week?
  • Limit your search to companies that specialize in restaurant cleaning. If they are only experienced with necessary office cleaning won’t understand the unique needs of a restaurant or proper sanitation procedures.
  • Do some background research. Ask for references and check them – have past customers been pleased with the service? Check the company’s track record with consumer protection organizations like the Better Business Bureau as well as online reviews.
  • Make sure the cleaning service is certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), a nonprofit that sets standards for the restoration, inspection and cleaning services.
  • Ensure you have a checklist of specific cleaning tasks that will be performed. This way you know exactly where your money is going. Be sure to ask things like:  “Is window washing included in the price or does that cost extra?” and “What about washing walls or dusting ceiling fans?”

Commercial Carpet Cleaning Costs 2022
Written by Desert Oasis Cleaners

Commercial Carpet Cleaning Costs 2023

The average price of commercial carpet cleaning is $0.22 per square foot. Commercial carpet cleaning prices range from $0.20 per square foot to $0.25 per square foot in the US for 2023.

Commercial Carpet Cleaning Services

Commercial carpet cleaning sometimes may need special attention. Different types of equipment might be required to be used when cleaning larger areas of the carpet. This is the reason professional carpet cleaning companies offer services that are designed specifically for commercial carpet cleaning.  This assures they can provide proficient results. What are commercial carpet cleaning prices and rates?

Daily foot traffic brings dirt and allergens to your carpets collecting dust, mud, sand, bacteria, etc. It is hazardous to leave your carpets uncleaned for long periods of time. This could create an unhealthy work environment while dust and dirt settle into the carpets. This is the reason why using the services of a professional carpet cleaning company for your commercial carpets is such a great alternative. You can not only have your carpet cleaned, but it also will be done professionally and effectively. A professional carpet cleaning company can provide you with other cleaning services giving your office the opportunity to reach its cleanliest.

Commercial Carpet Cleaning Method

What is commercial carpet cleaning? First, when you request these services, experts will inspect the condition of your carpet. They examine not only the overall condition of your carpet but also the high traffic areas. This is the perfect time for you to ask them any questions you may have about their cleaning process.

How often should you clean your carpet? The carpet cleaning company representatives can schedule monthly or yearly visits depending on how often the carpet is used. For example, if you have a lot of employees, you may want monthly carpet cleaning. These companies can work around your schedule and can usually come out on weekends.

Most professional carpet cleaning companies offer to come and inspect the condition of your carpet in the days after the appointment. The purpose of this is to ensure that the cleaning services have been done correctly and that your carpet is in its best condition. If stains are still there after the initial cleaning, a second cleaning will be done with a follow-up.

Professional Carpet Cleaning

Carpet cleaning companies usually also offer you other services like green carpet cleaning or even mold removal. Most companies will combine your carpet cleaning with other services allowing you to save money in the long run.

How can you determine the price of commercial carpet cleaning? Different cleaning companies are going to have different prices. Once you get in touch with a professional carpet cleaning company, they can provide you with a free estimate. Getting multiple estimates may take a little time but could save you money in the future. However, the price range of some of the commercial carpet cleaning companies varies at around $0.20 to $0.25 per square foot. For tougher stains, there could be an extra charge between $40-$50 for the stains to be removed. Talk with your carpet cleaner about coupons or discounts as well.  If you schedule regular cleanings, they might offer you a discount.

Medical Office Cleaning Costs 2022
Written by Desert Oasis Cleaners

Medical Office Cleaning Costs 2023

The average cost for medical office cleaning is $0.18 per square foot, with prices ranging from $0.06 per square foot to $0.30 per square foot for the US in 2022. If the cleaning service charges an hourly rate instead of a square footage rate, the average cost is $50 per hour with costs ranging from $25 to $75 per hour according to Kompareit.

It is vital to realize rates can vary enormously depending on the size of your facility, the level of cleaning required and the location of the proeprty, Furthermore additional services like wall to wall and floor to ceiling cleaning will be more expensive, whereas other add on’s will also add some to the total cost, For example, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping will all increase the total you will pay. Conversely, it is worth remembering paying the extra for an experienced medical office cleaner will not only create a safer and healthier environment, but it will also allow your staff to be more productive and enhance the comfort of your patients. Medical office cleaning should be part of your overall safety plan to limit the spreading of infection and disease.

Finding A Medical Office Cleaning Company

A professional medical office cleaning service will be specifically trained and knowledgeable in processes designed to stop the spread of disease as well as how best to prevent bacteria and viruses from spreading as well as how to sanitize all examination and surface areas. They, will of course, also understand how to clean delicate and expensive medical equipment without causing damage to them. Look for the following qualities when considering hiring a medical office cleaning company:

  • Uses hospital-grade sanitizers and disinfectants.
  • Uses HEPA vacuum filters for improved air quality and nanofiber technology to contain allergens and dust.
  • Understands how to prevent cross-contamination and how it can be caused.
  • Is trained on the proper disposal of blood-borne pathogens and other contaminants.
  • Follows Occupational Health and Safety Administration compliance protocols for proper sanitation and cleaning.
  • Check out the HCAHPS cleaning scores from other facilities they clean. These scores are based on surveys of the patient’s perceptions of cleanliness.

Getting The Best Value For Money

With medical office cleaning, it is never worth sacrificing top-notch service to save a few dollars. Nonetheless, you want to ensure you are getting a square deal. So consider this when you shop around:

  • Get quotes from multiple services to ascertain what you will be paying for. The lowest price does not always equal the best service or the best deal. With experience comes additional cost, but most people find the investment worth it.
  • Decide what jobs can be tackled to a professional level by your current staff. Can your staff handle the most simple of chores like emptying non-hazardous materials and basic sweeping-up?
  • Consider asking for a special introductory rate or a discount if you are going to sign a long-term contract with a single cleaning company. It is definitely worth asking as it is a competitive field and companies want your business.

Clean-Oven-Racks-With-Foil
Written by Desert Oasis Cleaners

Cleaning Oven Racks

1. Wrap your entire oven rack in aluminum foil.

This is much easier if you take the foil out of its container first because you don’t have the sharp cutting edge to deal with.

Lay out a large sheet of aluminum foil (or two if your oven rack is wide) on your kitchen counter.

Set your oven rack on the foil. Make sure the foil spans the entire rack.

Then continue to roll the foil over the top of your oven rack.

Roll the foil a little longer over the top so you can fold it around the bottom of the rack. This makes sure the foil stays on while the racks soak in your tub.

2. Set down a couple of dish towels in your bathtub.

This will prevent the racks from scratching your tub.

3. Set the oven racks in your bathtub.

4. Add a half cup of dish soap to your bathtub.

Mix the soap thoroughly to produce some suds.

Dish soap is great at cutting the tough grease on your racks. And everyone has it in their home!

5. Submerge the oven racks in hot water.

Make sure you don’t burn yourself with the hot water.

6. Let it soak for at least an hour.

Like in all these methods, you can soak your oven racks anywhere from an hour to overnight.

7. Unwrap the foil and remove the oven racks.

8. Rinse the oven racks under warm running water.

9. Let them air dry outside or in your bathtub.

10. Place them back into your oven

Clean Concrete Floors

There are specific ways to clean concrete floors without damaging them. Read on to learn more.

Concrete is popular for both indoor and outdoor floors. It’s durable and simple to clean but concrete can stain. This is because it is porous, and will soak up dirt, requiring regular but not too oftenm scrubbing to maintain its cleanliness.
A power washer is the easiest way to clean concrete outdoors. You should be able to blast away dirt, mildew and grime in an afternoon.  Spray the patio surface with a detergent and use a stiff brush to scrub it into the concrete. Put on safety goggles and gloves. Turn on the pressure washer. Move the wand from one side, using the same motion as you would if you were mopping a floor.
Want to know how to remove stains from concrete? There are several options. You can use bleach, ammonia (Note: never mix the two) and other commercial solutions. For a natural solution to stubborn stains on interior concrete floors, mix flour and hydrogen peroxide into a paste the consistency of peanut butter. Spread it over the stained area. Let sit overnight. Then, scrape with a plastic-edged scraper tool. Trisodium phosphate (TSP) mixed with water and scrubbed onto the stained area with a nylon bristle brush can remove tough stains. Scrub till stain is gone and rinse with a hose. TSP is available at home improvement stores.
Muriatric acid can be used on outdoor floors to clean the toughest stains, like rust or dried grout. It’s a powerful, toxic material that should be used with extreme caution. Wear protective eyewear and gloves when using it and be sure to follow manufacturer instructions on how to clean concrete with muriatic acid.
For indoor concrete floors that are polished or stamped, you’ll need to take a gentler approach to how to clean concrete. You’ll just use a mop and a bucket of water mixed with a mild cleaner. Don’t use ammonia, bleach or any highly acidic substance on polished or stamped floors. Some good cleaners include Castile soap, liquid dish detergent, stone cleaners and mild floor cleaners. Mix a solution, apply to floor with a wet mop and then rinse with a mop dipped in clean water.
To make your concrete floors resistant to future stains, apply a concrete sealant. Use a paint roller to apply it to clean, primed concrete. Start in the middle of the area and roll the sealant out to the edges. Floors need to be resealed every two to three years. Knowing how to clean concrete properly will keep the floors in your garage, workshop and house looking good as new.

Cleaning Hair Coloring From Your Bathroom
Written by Desert Oasis Cleaners

Remove Hair Coloring Stains

It can be challenging to learn how to color your hair at home. Aside from the stress of trying to achieve the right hair color, there’s always the risk of making a mess in the bathroom. We’ve all been there: you finish an at-home hair coloring session only to discover your vanity and tub look like something out of a murder scene from your favorite crime drama. Yikes! So, how can you get hair dye stains out of the shower, tub, counters, and any other furniture that has been stained by it? We’ve listed eight simple solutions for you to try below.

SOAP FOR DISHES

If your hair color hasn’t been lingering for too long, you might be able to remove the stains with standard liquid dish soap. Apply a generous amount of soap to the stain and scrub it with a sponge. Don’t quit up too soon—this strategy may need some effort. Consider one of the following solutions if you aren’t seeing much improvement or have gotten the stain to fade but can’t get it to go away completely.

BATHROOM CLEANER

Give your standard bathroom cleaner a shot, especially if you have stains in your shower or tub. These cleaners usually contain a small amount of bleach (more on that later) and may be able to remove the stain if caught early enough. To remove the cleanser, apply it to the affected area and scrub it away with a sponge.

NAIL POLISH REMOVER

Is your bathroom cleaner not up to the task? It’s time to employ a common household item you probably already have, nail polish remover! Hair color stains may be removed off your shower, tub, and counters with acetone-based nail polish remover. Apply nail polish remover to the affected area with a cotton ball. Just remember that this isn’t a suitable solution for stains on painted or completed surfaces, since the acetone can remove those as well!

ALCOHOL RUBBING

Hair dye stains can also be removed with a little rubbing alcohol. On remove the stain, apply a small amount to a cotton ball and rub it over the discolored area. Keep in mind that when it comes to wood finishes and painted surfaces, this is another approach to avoid.

BLEACHING

Remember how we mentioned bleach-based bathroom cleaning products? Bleach, in case you didn’t know, is an excellent cleanser that can be used to remove hair color stains from your bathroom. Make a solution of equal parts bleach and water, apply it to the stain, and let it sit for 10 minutes. When you wipe the bleach away, it should also wipe away the stain.

WATER AND BAKING SODA

Baking soda is well-known for its use in baking, but it’s also wonderful for cleaning and, in this case, eliminating stains! Simply combine baking soda and a small amount of water to produce a paste. With a sponge, rub the mixture onto the stain until it vanishes. Make sure you put in some effort!

BAKING SODA AND VINEGAR

To make a baking soda paste, you can also use vinegar. Combine the two ingredients and apply on the stain. Scrub away with a sponge or an old toothbrush until the stain is gone, depending on the size of the stain. If the stain persists after rinsing, repeat the process.

HAIRSPRAY

Hairspray is used for more than just holding your hairstyle in place. It can even be used to prevent hair dye stains from staining your furnishings. Spritz the stain with hairspray and blot it away with a paper towel or rag if you catch it in time. Because hairspray is usually alcohol-based, this works.
